Announcing OpenAI's Computer-Using Agent in Unify

The best sellers are creative, tactical, and resourceful. They don’t just rely on off-the-shelf products to find the right prospects - they scour the internet, log in to websites, use visual and audio resources, and do whatever it takes to understand their buyer. However, they often find themselves running these same repetitive processes over and over again. Instead of channeling their energy into creativity and strategic thinking, they’re stuck opening and closing dozens of browser tabs just to research each prospect.
Here at Unify, we are building the world's first system-of-action for revenue teams that automates repetitive work and empowers sellers to focus on the highest leverage tasks. Our first mission: automate outbound sales. Last year, we introduced AI Agents to start solving these tasks. We designed our Agents to mold to customers’ needs, knowing that no one understands the most relevant questions and signals better than they do. In just a few months, our Agent has been used to answer over 1 million questions.
Today, general-purpose agentic behavior is quite challenging. The web is designed to be looked at and used by people on computers, not AI that only analyzes language. Relying on APIs to service the hyper-specific questions our customers need answered hasn’t yet matched their level of precision and creativity.
Limitless Research: Computer Use in Unify's Agent
OpenAI’s agent building blocks, such as Computer Use, provide Unify’s agents with unlimited access to information — diminishing the need for long tail integrations to answer specific questions for sellers. Adding Computer Use to our agent is like instantly adding 1,000+ data integration tools. We are excited to power Plays that weren’t previously possible. Here are a few examples of complex signals we can now surface for customers with OpenAI’s Computer-Using Agents (CUA) model:
- Climate Tech: "Did this company add electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in their parking lot?": The Unify Agent can now autonomously find the company's headquarters, navigate to Google Maps, enter Street View, analyze the property, and determined if there are EV charging stations or solar panels.
- HR Management: "Are employees unhappy at this company?": With CUA, Unify's Agent will browse several employee review sites and click into specific reviews to extract examples of negative sentiment. The Agent will then use these anecdotes to craft a message to a prospect.
- Developer Tools: "Has this company been deploying buggy code that caused uptime issues?": The Unify Agents can look through public Github repositories to determine development activity and check their status page or recent news articles to see if they had downtime and mention the specific events in outbound messages.
- Compliance Software: "Is this company in compliance with all data privacy laws that apply to them?": Agents use Computer Use to read the news for recent data privacy laws, read the privacy or trust and safety pages of a company's website, and then pinpoint the exact laws that they need more coverage on to include in a personalized email.

In a few clicks, these questions can be answered for all of the companies in a customer's total addressable market with our Infinity Signal, so that they never miss an opportunity to spark a meaningful conversation with a prospect.
Unify's Collaboration with OpenAI
Over the last few months, we tested how OpenAI’s models can expand the capabilities of our Agents. We think of the CUA as a tool that enables our Agents to integrate with the long tail of online data sources that our customers want to access for account qualification. Our AI Agent combines reasoning and multi-modal models to dynamically approach research tasks. Instead of building specific tools on a per task basis, our main research agent can create specific tasks, distills them into browser trajectories, and then feeds them into our browser tool. The browser tool analyzes the trajectory it should take to navigate the web, breaks it down into steps using o3-mini, and then uses CUA with Browserbase to execute those steps in a browser. The completed task — including the steps taken and data retrieved — is then passed back to the research agent, which determines the next steps and evaluates results with LangSmith.
We're grateful to have been working closely with OpenAI since Unify’s founding - the OpenAI Startup Fund funded our Seed round in 2023. We are excited to build the world's first system-of-action with models that consistently push the frontier of AI. Our Agents are built using cutting-edge models from OpenAI including o1, o3-mini, gpt-4o, and now tools like Computer Use. The best growth, marketing, and sales teams are fervent believers that AI will transform the way they work. Many of the most forward-thinking and fastest growing companies have come to rely on Unify to transform how they engage buyers with AI. We are excited to partner with customers like Together AI, Hightouch, and Merge who use Unify to grow faster.
